On March 20, the inauguration ceremony of the Požega-Duga Pojana section of the E763 Expressway in Serbia was held in Sjenica, a ctiy in the southern region of Serbia. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Charge d'Affaires at the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade Tian Yishu, and Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport, and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirović attended the ceremony.

 

Aleksandar Vucic said, the Požega-Duga Pojana section of the E763 Expressway in Serbia is the largest infrastructure project in the southern region of Serbia, most of which consists of bridges and tunnels, the construction is extremely difficult, many people think that such a highway in Serbia is hard to build, but now many years of dreams will become a reality, thanks to the iron-clad friends—China and Chinese enterprises. I believe that the China Road & Bridge Corp (CRBC) can give full play to its technical and management strength, and successfully complete the construction of the project to create another excellent project for Serbia.

Tian Yishu said that both Chinese and Serbian governments take the people's aspiration for a better life as their goals, and this common pursuit makes the dreams of the two peoples closely linked. I am glad to see the contributions made by Chinese enterprises in economic and social development of Serbia in recent years. It is believed that CRBC can live up to the expectations of both sides, complete the construction of the project with high quality and help the balanced development of the regional economy. I also believe that the iron-clad friendship between China and Serbia will become more solid, and continuously promote the benefit of the two peoples.

The Požega-Duga Pojana section of the E763 Expressway is a part of the Highway Belgrade-South Adriatic, Belgrade-South. It is located in the south-central region of Serbia. It runs through steep mountains, covering a length of 75 kilometers, of which 51 kilometers consists of bridges and tunnels. It connects the Preljina-Požega section in the north, and could connect North-South Expressway in Montenegro in the south in the future.
