On November 7, the 2nd China Engineering and Construction Industry Forum on Supply Chain Research and Innovation was held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) during the 4th China International Import Expo. Eight central construction enterprises and some industry associations, including China State Construction Engineering Corporation, China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation Limited, China Railway Group Limited, China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, China Communications Construction Group Corporation Limited (CCCG), Power Construction Corporation of China, China Energy Engineering Corporation and China Anneng Construction Group exchanged views on such topics as the construction of a supply chain management system and the training of specialized supply chain management talents, and jointly studied how to implement supply chain strategies in the construction industry under the new development paradigm. Based on the book (version 1.0) themed on CCCG’s knowledge system in the supply chain, the 8 construction enterprises launched a book themed on the knowledge system in the supply chain of China’s Construction Industry at the forum.

Principals of the 8 construction enterprises including Wen Gang, Deputy General Manager of CCCG, attended the forum.

In his speech, Wen Gang said, holding the forum is an important practice for central construction enterprises to promote supply chain management innovation, which will definitely lay a solid foundation for the high-quality development of central construction enterprises' supply chains. He put forward four initiatives to promote the high-quality development of the supply chain in the construction industry: first, strengthen the strategic alignment to enhance intensification of the supply chain; second, strengthen the innovation to enhance supply chain digitalization; third, promote energy conservation and environmental protection to green the supply chain; fourth, strengthen the training of talents to enhance supply chain specialization. He hoped to take this exchange and results launching as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation and exchange, further promote the supply chain development in China's construction industry, prop up the training of specialized talents, and provide a stable support for the construction of a globally competitive enterprise.

The book launched this time combined the latest research results of the 8 construction enterprises in supply chain digitalization (intelligence), supply chain finance, and green supply chain, etc.
