The travel time from Yitunbulake to Ruoqiang is 3 hours shorter than the original travel through G315.
The total length of the project is about 1,305 km, which is the largest PPP project under construction in China. The expressway is one of the 5 sub-projects of Urumqi-Yuli Highway PPP Project, with a total length of about 294 km, 4 tunnels and 227 bridges. The 4-lane expressway's design speed is 120 kilometers per hour in the plain area, 100 kilometers per hour across the mountainous area. The expressway is the third expressway in and out of Xinjiang after G7 Expressway and G30 Expressway, which is of great significance to promoting economic development and improving people's livelihood in southern Xinjiang as well as to driving regional economic and social development.
A road of science and technology
The project team insisted on scientific and technological innovation, overcame many difficulties and effectively solved many technical problems in the construction of a highway in desert ". The project team has implemented 10 scientific research projects and achieved more than 40 scientific and technological innovations, including the leading construction technology in high alpine areas in the industry.
An ecological road
The expressway passes through Xinjiang Lop Nor Wild Camel National Nature Reserve and A'erjinshan National Nature Reserve. The project implemented the concept of environmental protection and built 176 elevated bridges of about 23 kilometers through the reserve to leave migration routes for wild animals. At the same time, warning signs were set up along the route, the right-of-way within the construction area was hardened, vehicles were equipped with exhaust emission purification devices, and water was sprinkled to reduce the impact of the construction on the ecological environment.
A road of love
The project team had rescued 11 geological surveyors who were trapped in the uninhabited area of Lop Nor. It has sent boiled water, ginger tea and emergency medical kits to people trapped on G315 highway due to heavy snow. The project has also actively implemented the rural revitalization strategy, created more than 40,000 direct jobs, and made positive contributions to help Xinjiang's economic development and social stability.
