The Mtentu Bridge project in South Africa, constructed by CCCC, holds significant importance for the country's economy and livelihoods. Located in the Eastern Cape province, about 50 km southeast of Port Edward, the project is nestled in a river valley, one of the most vibrant natural treasures on the African continent. Since the project's commencement, the team has been committed to balancing construction with environmental protection, launching a "Green Campaign" to safeguard the local ecosystem.
Eradicating harmful plants: Upon discovering the invasive species Solanum chrisotrichum, the team swiftly formulated a scientific plan to effectively curb its spread.
Rescuing and protecting native plants: During construction, the team searched for and transplanted protected plants within the work area, successfully rescuing over 1,000 protected species.
The team's efforts have not only ensured the progress of the project but also contributed to the preservation of the local ecosystem and biodiversity. The Mtentu Bridge has become a "road of green", symbolizing the harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature and standing as a testament to China-Africa friendship and a sustainable future.
