142 students graduate under PLKI-ECRL work-based academic program

Recently, 142 trainees from the second cohort of the PLKI-ECRL Work-Based Academic Program for the Malaysia East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) Project graduated.

Recently, 142 trainees from the second cohort of the PLKI-ECRL Work-Based Academic Program for the Malaysia East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) Project graduated.

The students will bring back to Malaysia the professional knowledge, technical skills and railway experience they gained through their studies and practical training in China, contributing to the future operation of the ECRL and the development of Malaysia's railway sector.

The PLKI-ECRL Work-Based Academic Program is a talent development initiative jointly launched by CCCC and Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd. The program aims to train 5,000 professionals in railway construction and operations for Malaysia. Since its launch in 2017, it has trained more than 2,300 people, providing strong talent support for the ECRL project. The work-based academic program is the first of its kind under the initiative. Since it was launched in May 2025, it has benefited more than 200 young Malaysians.
