The completion ceremony for the first batch of locomotive assistant driver trainees for the operation phase of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project in Malaysia was recently held at Liuzhou Railway Vocational Technical College in China. After five months of systematic and professional training, all 51 Malaysian trainees successfully completed the program and received completion certificates.

During the training, the trainees systematically acquired railway operation knowledge and job-related skills through theoretical study, professional skills training, and simulated workplace exercises. They also became more familiar with railway operating standards, work procedures, and job responsibilities, laying a solid foundation for their future participation in ECRL operations.

After returning to Malaysia, the 51 trainees will undergo practical training at the project site through a mentor-apprentice model, with Chinese instructors guiding their local counterparts. They will continue to gain hands-on driving experience and improve their operational skills. After obtaining the required qualifications and certifications, they will gradually become locomotive drivers capable of independently operating trains.
