Cambodia's first national traffic safety education and training center was recently inaugurated in Phnom Penh.

Cambodia's first national traffic safety education and training center was recently inaugurated in Phnom Penh.

Approved by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the center has authorized Cambodian PPSHV Expressway Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Road and Bridge Corporation, to operate and manage it.

The center covers training system development, curriculum design, instructor training, assessment, and certification, with the aim of supporting Cambodia in building a modern traffic safety management system.

Since opening in 2022, the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway has achieved world-leading safety performance in terms of traffic accident and fatality rates per 100,000 passenger trips. The company will develop the center into a talent incubation base for Cambodia's traffic safety sector, scaling up its safety management experience nationwide and training more professional personnel.

Following the unveiling ceremony, the center launched its first training course.

The first training course is underway.

As of June 1, 2026, the expressway had handled nearly 20 million vehicle trips.
