The 2026 International Training Course on Innovative Technology Application and Management in Green Ports for Belt and Road Countries recently came to a close. A total of 24 participants from 12 countries, including Algeria, Angola, Brazil, Colombia, and Malaysia, attended the program.

The training combined classroom instruction, field visits, forums, and discussion sessions. Key topics included port planning and engineering, green and low-carbon port development, standardized terminal construction, automated terminal operations, and emerging green port technologies. Drawing on a wide range of domestic and international project case studies, the program shared advanced practices in port construction and management.

In addition to classroom learning, the participants visited the Yiwu (Suxi) international port and the Meishan port area of the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, and toured the China Port Museum. These visits provided first-hand exposure to smart and green port development, helping bridge theory and practice.

The participants also attended the 10th Maritime Silk Road Port Cooperation Forum and several thematic sub-forums, where they exchanged views with Chinese port experts on the latest industry developments.

During the closing roundtable discussion, the participants shared perspectives on port development in their home countries. They said the program not only gave them a systematic understanding of China's experience in developing green and smart ports, but also enabled them to expand their professional networks through a high-level industry platform. They noted that the training exceeded their expectations and expressed their commitment to applying the knowledge gained to port development projects at home while sharing the experience with industry peers.
