The East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) Section 7 recently held a science class at SMJK KHAI MUN in Bentong, Malaysia, featuring a site tour of the Genting Tunnel—the longest in Southeast Asia—giving students and teachers hands-on exposure to real-world engineering.
This activity is part of CCCC's "Thousands of Engineers Enter the Classroom" initiative, offering local students insight into modern tunnel engineering and inspiring interest in science and engineering to support local talent development.
Students watched the ECRL promotional video and were captivated by the project's scale and advanced construction technologies. A tunnel engineer explained the Genting Tunnel's complex construction process and TBM technology using clear, vivid language and multimedia materials. During the interactive session, students asked questions eagerly, and engineers provided patient, clear answers, creating an engaging atmosphere. At the end, the project team of ECRL Section 7 gave students pre-prepared stationery gift packs to encourage hard work and excellence.
The school principal said, "I am proud that 21 of our outstanding graduates are working on the ECRL project. Today, CCCC has brought advanced engineering knowledge to our students and inspired their dreams."
