Recently, the opening ceremony of the third advanced training program on Marine Engineering and Technology was held at Annaba Port's New Mining Quay Project, Algeria. The program was organized by the UNESCO International Center for Engineering Education (ICEE) Global Leadership Development Base.
Founded in 2016, ICEE is the world's only Category 2 Institutes of UNESCO focused on engineering education. In 2021, ICEE, in collaboration with CHEC, established the ICEE Global Leadership Development Base. The goal of the base is to promote engineering education and leadership development, leveraging ICEE's academic support and CHEC's global construction projects. The base aims to cultivate talented professionals with international perspectives, cross-cultural communication skills, and innovative thinking, contributing to the achievement of global sustainable development goals.
This training program, which takes place at Annaba Port's New Mining Quay Project, is an immersive course with over 40 participants from Algeria's Ministry of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, the National Agency for the Construction of Port Infrastructure, and various local public works bureaus. The curriculum closely aligns with the practical needs of the port sector, covering topics such as dredging, port site selection and planning, port engineering layout and optimization, and more. The course is designed to train local professionals in Algeria with core technical knowledge in port engineering.
