Recently, an HSE staff member from the Novi Sad-Ruma Expressway project visited a primary school in Irig, Serbia, to deliver a unique safety education lesson for sixth-grade students.

Using the ongoing project construction as an example, the engineer explained how to identify and prevent safety hazards in scenarios such as excavation, scaffolding, temporary power use, and working at heights. He also demonstrated the correct use of fire extinguishers and protective masks, while explaining how to respond to common emergencies such as fires and electric shocks.

The activity was a vivid example of CCCC's "Thousands of Engineers Enter the Classroom" initiative. Although the 45-minute lesson came to an end, the safety awareness it fostered will stay with the students.
