Recently, the Mathare Carnival was held in Kenya by Afristar and the Dream Building Service Association (DBSA). As a featured project of the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, the event focused on youth empowerment, cultural exchange and community development, providing a platform for people-to-people friendship between China and Kenya.

More than 20 CCCC's "Blue Vest" volunteers took part throughout the event, coordinating key activities including educational assistance, youth talent development, event support and people-to-people and cultural exchanges.

During the preparations, the volunteers moved into the community ahead of time to mentor young people as they refined their performances and rehearsed on stage, helping them improve their performance skills, build confidence and develop their artistic talents. They also donated books to support the children's growth and development.

The carnival featured a wide range of sports and cultural activities, including the youth football final, a community fashion show, traditional dances, rap and poetry recitals. Volunteers remained on duty throughout the event, helping ensure that competitions and performances were held safely, smoothly and in an orderly manner.

Over the years, Afristar has continued to carry out community outreach and cultural exchange activities while focusing on its core businesses, including railway operations and maintenance, safety management and technical support, contributing to people-to-people exchanges and friendship between China and Kenya.
