Students and faculty from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology visit the Genting Tunnel of the ECRL

This visit further strengthened the exchange and cooperation between the ECRL project and Malaysian universities.

Recently, a group of 27 students and faculty from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology in Malaysia visited the Genting Tunnel of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) undertaken by CCCC.
The ECRL stretches 665 kilometers, with the Genting Tunnel being a key project spanning 16.39 kilometers. Constructed using two tunnel boring machines (TBMs), the tunnel will be the longest in Southeast Asia upon completion. It passes beneath the a natural forest reserve, necessitating stringent environmental protection measures.
During their visit, the students and faculty learned about the geological conditions of the Genting Tunnel, the principles of TBM excavation, and the construction techniques employed. They also toured the Genting Tunnel safety experience center and visited the tunnel's construction site.
This visit further strengthened the exchange and cooperation between the ECRL project and Malaysian universities.
