Category 5 Hurricane Melissa recently struck Jamaica, causing widespread damage. CCCC teams, while safeguarding their projects, actively joined relief efforts to support affected communities.
Delivering Emergency Supplies
At the Montego Bay Perimeter Road Project, CCCC employees found themselves in the worst-hit area. The project team carefully prepared emergency food packs, drinking water, and common medications for the affected workers.
Clearing the Lifeline
In response to roads blocked by mudslides, the Montego Bay Perimeter Road Project team immediately deployed large machinery and personnel. After nearly 8 hours of continuous work, they cleared a "lifelinev passage, buying critical time for the delivery of rescue supplies and the evacuation of trapped elderly people and children.
The roads in the community where the Bahari project is located were severely damaged, affecting travel and material transportation. The project team promptly dispatched excavators, loaders and rescue personnel to clear the site in the rain. After the main road was reopened, they continued to clear the roadside drainage ditches to ensure the efficient operation of the drainage system.
