Recently, the Kilwa Masoko region in Tanzania experienced flash floods due to heavy rainfall, causing severe damage to the B2 highway at the Miteja section, which completely disrupted regional transportation in the southern coastal area of Tanzania.
Responding to a call for help, the project team from CCCC's fishing harbor in Kilwa Masoko promptly reached the site. Within five hours, they managed to repair the damage, earning accolades from the Tanzania Roads Authority, local government, and community.
The fishing harbor, built by CHEC, a subsidiary of CCCC, marks Tanzania’s first modern large-scale fishing port. The project is about 42% towards completion and is expected to finish by 2025. It promises to enhance Tanzania's deep-sea fishing activities significantly, giving a boost to the local fishery economy.
During its construction, the team from CCCC has been committed to social responsibilities, creating over 400 local jobs and supporting educational initiatives, thus positively impacting the local economy and community development.
