Creating an "Ecological Miracle" with Chinese Solutions in Sri Lanka

The Colombo Port City was hailed as one of the "5 new cities that are set to shake up the future" by Forbes. Throughout the construction process of the port city, the project team has fully integrated the ESG concept into the entire lifecycle of project development.
Measures such as monitoring and protecting coral reefs, hosting the first China-Sri Lanka coral reef ecology seminar, and implementing ecological protection measures during landfill construction, including installing water pollution barriers and implementing livelihood improvement plans for fishermen, have effectively enhanced the resilience of the port city's ecosystem. As a result, a contiguous coral reef community spanning 3.7 kilometers has naturally grown around the port city, earning it the reputation of an "ecological miracle".
