Open Day for Nam Lik 1-2 Hydropower Station project in Laos

Recently, during the 10th Anniversary Event of CCCC's Joint Construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, Lao employee Phouxay Vongphachanh hel attendees and global netizens to learn about the Nam Lik 1-2 Hydropower Station project.

During construction, the project provided thousands of job opportunities for locals, organized flood control drills, established a joint flood control mechanism, and carried out tree planting and fish releasing to protect environment. The project also aided in constructing school buildings, playgrounds, libraries, and more.

The Nam Lik 1-2 Hydropower Station, with a total installed capacity of 100,000 kilowatts, has been in operation for 13 years, generating over 6.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity. It supplies stable electricity to the central power grid with Vientiane as the center, reducing annual carbon dioxide emissions by 340,000 tons.
