The new port project primarily encompasses the construction of an 8.1-kilometer terminal quay, including 11 berths, as well as 6.3 million square meters of foundation treatment. The port features a designed annual cargo throughput of 6 million TEUs, 1.7 million tons of bulk cargo, and 500,000 vehicles. Put into operation in July 2016, the new port holds profound significance in facilitating Qatar's economic development.
