San Gabán III Hydropower in Peru
A sustainable energy project in the Andes
Construction of the project began in September 2017, and it successfully commenced power generation on April 29, 2025. With a total installed capacity of 209,300 kW and a designed annual power generation of 1.252 billion kWh, the plant will alleviate power shortages for over 1 million people in southern Peru. It will reduce carbon emissions by 338,000 tons annually, equivalent to the yearly emission reduction of 9,214 hectares of forest.
