Sutong Yangtze River Highway Bridge
World's first cable-stayed main span exceeding 1,000 meters
Connecting Suzhou and Nantong, the project spans 32.4 kilometers. The 8,206-meter cross-river bridge, featuring a main span of 1,088 meters, ranked as the world's longest cable-stayed bridge at the time of construction. With a navigation clearance of 62 meters, the main bridge accommodates all-weather transit for 50,000-ton container ships. The project was honored with the George S. Richardson Medal by the International Bridge Conference (IBC).
