Ulansuhai Nur ecological restoration project

A model for ecological restoration

Located in Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia, the project spans a 14,700-square-kilometer basin. By executing comprehensive restoration across local mines, forests, farmlands, wetlands, and lakes, the project minimized ecological impact and delivered a replicable conservation model. Today, the overall water quality of Ulansuhai Nur has reached Class V, with localized improvements to Class IV standards, while the wetlands attract approximately 6 million wild birds annually for roosting and breeding.
