Lancang-Mekong Book House project boosts local education
In 2005, as China International Water & Electric Corporation, a subsidiary of CCCC, began construction of the Nam Lik 1-2 Hydropower Station in Laos, it simultaneously launched education support initiatives. To date, CCCC has supported the construction of seven schools in Laos and has implemented the Lancang-Mekong Book House initiative for five consecutive years, donating more than 10,000 books. Pak Ngua School has become well known in the local area, while the Tingsong Village Kindergarten has benefited 40 children from around 30 households. In 2022 and 2025, Lancang-Mekong Book Houses were established in two additional schools, further advancing educational development in Laos.
