Corals thrive during construction of Colombo Port City
Throughout the design and construction of Sri Lanka's Colombo Port City, the CCCC team has remained committed to the principle of ecological conservation and environmental protection. Far from damaging the surrounding ecosystem, the project has helped restore marine biodiversity. 73 coral species have naturally taken root along the 3.7-kilometer breakwater, creating a habitat for 114 species of fish. The project has also created significant employment opportunities for local residents. Beyond infrastructure development, the team has actively promoted cultural exchange and people-to-people connectivity between China and Sri Lanka through initiatives such as publishing marine science picture books and hosting a variety of cultural events.
