The CCCC scholarship program benefits students in Kenya
Under the program, CRBC, a subsidiary of CCCC, sponsored 100 outstanding Kenyan high school graduates to pursue four-year undergraduate degrees in railway-related fields at Beijing Jiaotong University, fostering skilled professionals for Kenya's and East Africa's railway sector. Between 2016 and 2018, the students arrived in China in three separate cohorts. From 2020 to 2022, the students graduated and returned to Kenya, where they have contributed to the development of the local railway sector and become a driving force behind local growth and stronger China-Kenya cooperation. Notably, Concilia Owire became the first female train driver in East Africa's century-long railway history.
