Turtle Protection Action

The Phase I of Tema New Container Terminal project in Ghana has embraced the concept of sustainable development throughout the construction process. By implementing a sea turtle protection plan, creating turtle nesting channels, and establishing a turtle breeding center, the project team has successfully hatched and released over 17,000 baby sea turtles.
The project team also actively cooperated with a wildlife conservation association in Ghana, forming a turtle conservation group and conducting environmental protection knowledge dissemination and volunteer activities. Their efforts have made significant contributions to raising local awareness of environmental protection, developing local tourism potential, and promoting sustainable development of marine ecology. This serves as a good demonstration for implementing UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 15) in international infrastructure construction.
