Recently, the Kribi Deepwater Port Phase II Project in Cameroon, constructed by CHEC, opened for operation.
The Kribi Deepwater Port is the first deep seaport in Cameroon. With a length of 715.5-meter, the second phase of the project includes a 70,000-ton container berth and a 100,000-ton container berth, and is capable of handling the world's largest ships. The start of operation for the second phase will lead to industrial clusters in this region and promote the economic development of the countries of the Gulf of Guinea.
Cameroon's Minister of Transport Jean Ernest Massena Ngalle Bibehe said at the opening ceremony that the full operation of the Kribi Deep Seaport would significantly enhance Cameroon’s competitiveness in international shipping, consolidate Cameroon's position as a hub in the regional logistic network, stimulate economic growth, and promote the development of export-oriented industries.
