World's Longest Ultra-High-Altitude Road Tunnel Opens to Traffic
The newly opened Lhasa-Tsethang Expressway has reduced travel time between Lhasa and Shannan from three hours to just one, significantly enhancing travel convenience for local residents and boosting tourism and agricultural industries along the route.
Spanning 47.46 kilometers, the expressway is a four-lane highway designed for speeds of up to 80 km/h. Its centerpiece, the Guigala Tunnel, averages over 4,000 meters above sea level and features twin bores, each stretching 12.79 kilometers, making it the world's longest ultra-high-altitude road tunnel.
Nam Ngum 1 Hydropower Plant in Laos Reaches An Annual Output of over 700 Million kWh
As of December 16, the Nam Ngum 1 Hydropower Plant, constructed and operated by CWE, reached an annual output of over 700 million kWh.
With a total installed capacity of 160 MW, the station has generated nearly 2 billion kWh since it began operations on October 1, 2021. It not only strengthens Laos' power supply but also optimizes local water resource utilization.
Botswana's North-South Carrier Phase 2.2 Project Receives Completion Certificate
This project involved laying 90.3 kilometers of steel pipelines, constructing two new booster pump stations, and procuring and installing electromechanical equipment. Completed on schedule, it secures potable water for approximately 200,000 residents in the capital and along the route, spurring industrial growth and balancing economic development between northern and southern Botswana.
Section 2 of Odienne Border Road Project Between Mali and Guinea in Côte d'Ivoire Connects to Maninian City
This milestone marks significant progress in the 230-kilometer-long project, undertaken by CHEC. The highway will serve as a vital link connecting Côte d’Ivoire to Mali and Guinea. Travel time from Odienné to the Mali border has been halved to 1.5 hours, while travel to the Guinean border city of Maninian now takes just 45 minutes, down from two hours. This project greatly facilitates  local people's travel and the transport of agricultural goods along the route.
