Recently, the number of enterprises registered in Port City Colombo has exceeded 100, drawing increasing attention from international investors.
Developed, constructed, and operated by CHEC, a subsidiary of China CCCC, Port City Colombo is set to create a brand-new Central Business District (CBD) for Sri Lanka's capital. The project is expected to generate over 83,000 jobs. It was hailed as one of the "5 new cities that are set to shake up the future" by Forbes and awarded the Best Global Project in the Airport / Port category by Engineering News-Record (ENR).
The influx of enterprises is projected to create a demand for 30,000 to 50,000 square meters of office space, along with a need for related facilities such as dining, entertainment, and housing, injecting continuous momentum into the Port City's sustainable development.
