In mid-May 2022, the 865-km Yongding River project is completed.
After the Yongding River project is fully completed, the water area of the river has increased significantly, with obvious the groundwater replenishment effect, and great improvement of the water quality of the rivers and lakes along the river. The biodiversity has been further enriched, and the quality and stability of the ecosystem have gradually improved. A green ecological river corridor along the Yongding River is thus taking its shape.
The project is the first province-crossing project in China to carry out coordinated management of the entire river basin. The river flows through two provinces, two cities and one district, 43 counties, with a basin area of 47,000 square kilometers.
