Dakar Bus Rapid Transit Pilot Project

The BRT project is the first rapid transit project in Senegal and the first electric bus rapid transit project in sub-Saharan Africa. The project connects the coastal city Gediawaya with the center of Dakar, with a total length of 18.3 km and 23 bus stations and 3 interchange hubs.
During his visit to the project, Senegal's Prime Minister Amadou Ba said that the BRT project could effectively alleviate traffic congestion in the capital—Dakar, benefiting around 300,000 citizens.
