Peljesac Bridge has given a strong impetus to local economic development and personnel exchanges.

Recently, the 2022 International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) Awards  & Gala Dinner was held in Zurich, Switzerland. IABSE presents Shortlisted Award for Infrastructure to CCCC-built Peljesac Bridge in Croatia. This is the first time that an overseas bridge built by a Chinese company is nominated for the highest international award in bridge engineering, and it is also the first international award for the Peljesac Bridge.
IABSE, founded in 1929, is the largest international association for structural engineers in the world, with a wide influence in bridge engineering. Its Award for Infrastructure recognizes the world's most prestigious, innovative and creative bridges.
The bridge and its linking-up road project is 3.94 kilometers long, of which the bridge is 2440 meters long. The main bridge is a six-tower single plane cable-stayed bridge. During construction, the project team made technical innovations, such as the deep-water rock-socketed super-long diameter steel pipe piles, the mass concrete pouring for the high-pile caps, the manufacture and assembly of EXC4 steel box girders, and overcome technical problems including the installation of superstructures of multi-span cable-stayed bridges and closing-up accuracy.
The bridge was opened to traffic on July 26 this year. The completion of the bridge has given a strong impetus to local economic development and personnel exchanges. Since its opening, more than one million vehicles have safely driven across the bridge, and the bridge is in good condition.
