On July 28, the fourth phase of the fully automated terminal in Nansha Port Area of Guangzhou Port was officially put into operation.

On July 28, the fourth phase of the fully automated terminal in Nansha Port Area of Guangzhou Port, which is the world's first fully automated terminal for river-sea-rail multimodal transport, and the first of its kind newly built within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, was officially put into operation.

The construction of the project includes two 100,000-ton, two 50,000-ton, two 10,000-ton container berths, ten 2,000-ton inland barge berths and four workboat berths. During the construction process, the project team carried out technical research, and won 13 national patents, 6 BIM application technology awards, and one software copyright.
After the terminal is put into operation, the annual container throughput of Nansha Port Area is expected to exceed 24 million TEUs, ranking among the top of the single port area in the world. The terminal's operation will further promote the Nansha Port Area to become a passage to the sea in the economic hinterland of the Pan-Pearl River Delta.
