On June 28, the Zhongshan Bridge of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, constructed by Second Highway Engineering, was successfully closed up and the main bridge was completed.
It is another cross-sea bridge in the Greater Bay Area after the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link is about 24 km long and is a cross-sea cluster project integrating "Bridge, Island, Tunnel, and Underwater-Interchange". The bridge section is 17.2 kilometers long. The section built by Second Highway Engineering is 7.5 kilometers in length, which is the longest and largest bridge section among the four bridge sections of the whole project, and the key project is the Zhongshan Bridge.
Zhongshan Bridge is a double-tower cable-stayed bridge, the main tower is 213.5 meters tall with the total length of 1170 meters and 8-lane highway design standards. The design speed is 100 kilometers per hour. The main span is 580 meters, which can accommodate a huge ship weighing 30,000 tons.
Zhongshan Bridge steel box girder adopts the construction process of segmental block processing and on-site welding, and the lifting speed reaches 2 sections in 5 days. Since the first steel box girder o was successfully lifted on November 24, 2021, the construction team has lifted 69 steel box girders in 7 months, with the docking error of the joint controlled within two millimeters.
After the completion, Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link will constitute a major artery of cross-river traffic in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area together with the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Humen Bridge and Nansha Bridge, promote the interconnection of industries and efficient allocation of various resources in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area, and speed up the integrated development of the cities in the area.
