Onshore construction of Abu Qir Container Terminal in Egypt officially launched

Recently, the Abu Qir Container Terminal project, constructed by CHEC, a subsidiary of CCC, held an opening ceremony for foundation treatment of sub-projects in Alexandria.

Recently, the Abu Qir Container Terminal project, constructed by CHEC, a subsidiary of CCC, held an opening ceremony for foundation treatment of sub-projects in Alexandria, Egypt's second largest city. This marks the official start of the project's onshore construction, laying a solid foundation for accelerating the main construction of the project.

The project is located 30 kilometers east of Alexandria in the port of Abu Qir, the project includes dredging and filling, foundation treatment, quay, shore protection, breakwater, road, and yard consctruction and other lighting, water, electricity, and communication facilities. It is designed for an annual container throughput of 1.6 million TEU. The total area of the foundation treatment construction started this time is about 600,000 square meters.

After the completion of the project, it will also greatly promote local economic and social development and continuously increase employment.
