Recently, the shield machine "Ju Li No.1" was successfully put in use in Jingjiang, Jiangsu Province. It was used in the construction of the Yangtze River Tunnel from Jiangyin to Jingjiang, the largest shield tunnel in terms of diameter under construction in China, which is undertaken by the First Highway Engineering of CCCC.
Located between Jiangyin Bridge and Taizhou Bridge, the Jiangyin-Jingjiang Yangtze River Tunnel in Jiangsu is connected to Jingjiang City in the north and Jiangyin City in the south, with a total length of about 11.8 kilometers and a cross-river section of about 6.4 kilometers. It will be constructed by the two-way 6-lane standard, with a designed speed of 80 kilometers per hour. Designed to withstand a maximum water pressure of 1.2 MPa, it is the super-large diameter tunnel under construction in China that can withstand the highest water pressure.
First Highway Engineering undertakes the construction of the A2 section of the tunnel, including the 4,937-meter-long tunnel shield section of the left-line and the 789-meter-long cut-and-cover tunnel of the Jiangnan main line. The project adopts the most advanced and most intelligent super-large diameter shield machine "Ju Li No.1" for excavation construction. The cutterhead this time weighs 514 tons, with a diameter of 16.09 meters.
After the tunnel is completed, it will effectively relieve the traffic pressure of the Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge and enhance the traffic capacity of the river crossing tunnel of Yangtze River mainline. It will be of great significance to accelerate the construction of the Yangtze River city cluster and cross-river integration development.
