On January 10, the commencement ceremony of land backfill was held for the Pasay reclamation development project in the Philippines undertaken by China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. The project is located in Manila Bay, Pasay City, the Philippines, about five kilometers from downtown Manila and Ninoy Aquino International Airport. The main construction of the project includes backfilling to form three artificial islands and related supporting revetment structures, and foundation treatment. The amount of backfilling is about 97.11 million cubic meters, and the amount of the dredging is about 15 million cubic meters.
