On December 6, the main work of Qidong offshore wind farm project in east China's Jiangsu Province, China's largest single capacity offshore wind power project constructed by CCCC First Harbor Engineering Company Ltd, was completed.
The Qidong offshore wind power project is located in the offshore waters near Qidong and the estuary of the Yangtze River. The center of the site is around 37 kilometers away from the shore. The project includes the installation of 134 wind turbines and fan installation, with a total installed capacity of 802 megawatts. It is the largest single capacity offshore wind power project with the most different types of turbines installed.
After the project is connected to the grid, it is expected to generate 2.2 billion kWh of electricity annually, which can meet the electricity demand of about 7.33 million families for one month, while avoiding the burning of some 730,000 tons of standard coal per year, which is of great significance to promote the energy transformation and green low-carbon development of Jiangsu, and to achieve China's strategic goal to peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060.
