During construction of overseas projects, CRBC has trained tens of thousands of talents in infrastructure technology and operational management.

Representatives of Kenyan students and alumni from Beijing Jiaotong University express their delight in coming to China to study railway operation and management. "Thanks to China's assistance, ordinary Kenyan people can afford to take trains now," said Kariuki Jamlick Mwangi, one of the students.
They aspire to serve as a bridge of friendship between Kenya and China, contributing to the friendship and cooperation between the two countries. Behind this aspiration lies the joint scholarship program implemented by CRBC, a subsidiary of CCCC, and Kenya. The program aims to cultivate construction and management talents for the railway industry in Kenya and even the East African region.
The Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway, constructed and operated by CRBC, stands as a flagship project and a successful model of China-Kenya cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Stretching 592 kilometers from the East African port of Mombasa, passing through the capital Nairobi, and extending northwest to the Suswa station, the railway adheres to Chinese standards, technology, equipment, and management practices. As of the end of November 2023, the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway has safely transported over 11.6 million passengers and nearly 30 million tons of cargo.
From 2016 to 2018, CRBC sponsored 100 outstanding Kenyan high school graduates in three batches to pursue a 4-year undergraduate education in railway-related disciplines at Beijing Jiaotong University in China. Between 2020 and 2022, these students graduated and returned to Kenya, actively engaging in the Kenyan railway industry. They have emerged as a new force driving local development and enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
In March 2016, the first batch of 25 Kenyan students bound for China participated in a farewell ceremony held at the Kenyan Presidential Palace. The ceremony was attended by the then-President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In February 2017, the second batch of 35 Kenyan students bound for China had a farewell ceremony at the Railway Training Institute of Kenya.
In April 2018, the third batch of 40 Kenyan students bound for China had farewell ceremony in Nairobi.
As of now, CRBC has fully sponsored over 400 students from countries such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea, Togo, Senegal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Jamaica, and others to study and enhance their expertise in China. During construction of overseas projects, CRBC has trained tens of thousands of talents in infrastructure technology and operational management.
