Mauritanian President and Prime Minister attend the groundbreaking ceremony of an overpass project in Nouakchott

After completion, the Nouakchott Overpass Project will greatly improve traffic quality and promote efficient communication between China and Mauritania.

Recently, a groundbreaking ceremony was held of the China-aided overpass project in Nouakchott, Mauritania, undertaken by China Road & Bridge Corporation, a subsidiary of CCCC. Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani and Mohamed Ould Bilal attended the ceremony. More than 200 people participated in the event, including people from all walks of life in Mauritania and representatives of enterprises for project management and construction.
Nani Ould Chrougha, Minister of Equipment and Transport of Mauritania, delivered a speech on behalf of Mauritania. He said that the project, once completed, would effectively solve the traffic congestion at the busiest and most crowded intersections in the capital, thus facilitating people's life.
After the speech, President Ghazouani, accompanied by Li Baijun, Chinese Ambassador to Mauritania, and Chrougha, laid the foundation stone for the project and listened to the staff's introduction to the project on the site.

The Nouakchott Overpass Project is a key project of China's aid to Mauritania, mainly including the construction of a new overpass, the reconstruction of the north-south direction of the N2 national highway,as well as the reconstruction of the east-west direction ofthe N3 national highway and Hope Avenue. This project will not only fundamentally solve traffic congestion, improve traffic quality and facilitate connectivityin the capital of Mauritania, but also further renew the urban planning and layout, and have a profound impact on the high-quality economic and social development of Mauritania.
