Kenya's Nairobi-Malaba Railway (Phase I) awarded 2022 Luban Prize in overseas project category

After the completion of the first phase, it will ease the transportation pressure from Mombasa to the inland, create a lot of job opportunities for Kenya and help Kenya achieve greater development.

Recently, China Construction Industry Association announced the winner list of the 2022 Luban Prize, which is the highest honor for project quality in China's construction industry. The Nairobi-Malaba Railway (Phase I), constructed by CRBC, a subsidiary of CCCC, was awarded the Luban Award in the category for overseas project. 

As an extension of the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway, the Nairobi-Malaba Railway is an important part of the development of the standard gauge railway in Kenya, which is built with Chinese standards. The main line of the Nairobi-Malaba Railway is 487.5 kilometers long and is planned to be constructed in three phases.
The first phase of the Nairobi-Malaba Railway starts from Nairobi South railway station and ends at Naivasha Railway Station, with a total length of 120 kilometers. After the completion of the first phase, it will ease the transportation pressure from Mombasa to the inland, create a lot of job opportunities for Kenya and help Kenya achieve greater development.
Up to now, 113 projects of CCCC have won the Luban Prize, including 27 overseas projects.
