Recently, the opening ceremony of the 41-km priority Smokovac-Matesevo section of Montenegro's Bar-Boljare Highway, which was constructed by CRBC, was held in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro. Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic, Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic, Deputy Prime Minister Ervin Ibrahimovic, Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Montenegro Hua Yafang attended the opening ceremony.

In his speech, Abazovic thanked all the builders for their efforts and said it is of special significance to open the priority section of the highway on Montenegro's National Day. He said that Montenegro not only has a highway today, but also opens new prospects for the well-being of the Montenegrin people and economic development of Montenegro.
Ibrahimovic said in an interview that the highway will both boost economy of northern Montenegro and promote economic development of Montenegro. This is a road of interconnection. It will connect the people of Montenegro, deepen Montenegro's links with regional countries, the European Union, China and the world.
Hua said that the first highway in Montenegro is of great significance. It will be Montenegro's road for development to increase the movability between the north and south of the country, but also will become a "highway of friendship" for deepening cooperation between China and Montenegro.
The highway is about 180 kilometers long. It is the first highway in Montenegro, linking the southern port city Bar and the northern city Boljare. It is also Montenegro's important access to Europe. CRBC built the 41-km priority Smokovac-Matesevo section, with a bridge-to-tunnel ratio of about 60%, making many records on rigid-frame bridge construction in the Balkans. The section is the most difficult part of the project.
