Recently, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development of Sarawak, Malaysia, visited the the Bintulu-Jepak bridge to inspect the progress and safety management.
After learning more about the progress, safety management and the introduction of technical personnel, Douglas said, the actual progress of the construction has exceeded his expectations, especially at this difficult time when the epidemic is still spreading, which is of great significance to Sarawak's infrastructure construction.
As for safety management, the bridge has set a benchmark for local engineering safety management by combining advanced Chinese safety measures with Malaysian safety management regulations.
In terms of talent introduction and training, the introduction of talents from Chinese enterprises has provided Sarawak with good opportunities in bringing in talents. The advanced technology and management mode has greatly promoted the local engineering construction and provided many talents for the smooth progress of the project.
The 3,586-meter-long Bintulu-Jepak bridge in Malaysia is the largest four-lane cable-stayed bridge with two towers and two spans in East Malaysia, and is the key project of the entire project. At present, the main tower of the bridge is about to be capped.
After the completion of the bridge, it will directly connect Bintulu and Bintulu Airport, providing convenient transportation to nearly 300,000 people, and will greatly promote the economic development of Bintulu and Jepak. Meanwhile, the bridge will also become the "most beautiful new landmark" in Bintulu.
