CCCC signs contract for highway project in Serbia in presence of Li Keqiang

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang attended the 6th Summit of Heads of Government of Central and Eastern European Countries and China in Budapest on the morning of November 27 Local Time. On the sidelines of the summit, he witnessed the signing of the business contract for the Preljina-Pozega section of Highway E763 between CCCC and the Serbian government. Zorana Mihajlovic, Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia and Sun Ziyu, Vice President of CCCC signed the contract on behalf of respective sides.

The Preljina-Pozega section stretching from Preljina to southern Serbia's city of Pozega is the south section of Highway E763 in Serbia. With a full length of 31.2 kilometers, a designed speed of 120km/h in plain areas and 100km/h in mountain areas, a contract value of some RMB 520 million and a construction period of 42 months, the project is a two-way four-lane highway.

After its completion, the project will extend Highway E763 southwards to increase its total traffic mileage to 150 kilometers, and include southwestern Serbia's large and medium-sized cities in the one-hour economic circle of Belgrade, capital of Serbia, to facilitate local travel, improve the efficiency of passenger and cargo transport from Belgrade to the Adriatic Sea, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and other countries, and promote the interconnection and economic and trade contacts in the Balkans. CCCC initiated the construction of the starting section (Surcin-Obrenovac section) of Highway E763 on May 5, 2017.
