CCCC attends Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation

On the morning of May 14, the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation opened in Beijing. Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. During the forum, heads of state from 29 countries and 1,500 guests from more than 130 countries will discuss issues of vital importance and portray the blueprint under the theme of "Strengthening International Cooperation, Building the 'Belt and Road', Achieving Win-win Development", to build a broad road for win-win cooperation.


CCCC's leaders-Liu Qitao, Chen Fenjian, Fu Junyuan and Sun Ziyu, as well as Sanjeewa, an employee with CCCC Colombo Port City Project Company were invited to the opening ceremony.


On the afternoon of May 14, the six thematic sessions of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation were held. Liu Qitao, Chairman of CCCC, attended the Thematic Session on Connectivity of Development Policies and Strategies, and delivered a speech on behalf of CCCC. Chen Fenjian, President of CCCC, attended the Thematic Session on "Infrastructure Connectivity", a banquet at the Great Hall of the People in the night, as well as the "Millennial Road" art performance staged at the National Centre for the Performing Arts. Fu Junyuan, Executive Director and CFO of CCCC, attended the Thematic Session on "Financial Connectivity". Sun Ziyu, Vice President of CCCC, attended the Thematic Session on "People-to-People Connectivity" and spoke on behalf of CCCC. In the session of "story sharing", a short film based on Sanjeewa's experience was broadcast at the forum. He shared his feeling about participating in the construction of Colombo Port City--the "Belt and Road" gives more ordinary people in the countries along the "Belt and Road" more opportunities to build a better home.
