Xi Jinping witnesses project agreement exchange by CCCC, Bangladeshi government

On October 14, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka, and witnessed clause and agreement exchange between CCCC and the Bangladeshi side. CCCC President Chen Fenjian was present.

Witnessed by the two heads of state, Chen and Paban Chowdhury, Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority exchanged the Clauses of Cooperation and Investment in Bangladesh China Economic and Industrial Zone. Tang Qiaoliang, General Manager of CHEC and Ibne Alam Hasan, Chief Engineer of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority exchanged the Framework Agreement on the Business Contract for Dhaka-Sylhet Highway Extension Project.

With an expected total investment of 220 million US dollars, Bangladesh China Economic and Industrial Zone Project will construct an industrial zone measuring some 774 acres. With a contract value of some 2,100 million US dollars and a total length of some 225 km, Dhaka-Sylhet Highway Extension Project will upgrade the original two-way two-lane highway into a two-way six-lane one.
