Tseung Kwan O Cross-sea Bridge and relevant works are won by CRBC

On June 29, CRBC Hong Kong won the bid for the "main bridge and relevant works of Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Link" from the Civil Engineering and Development Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government. The project is another iconic cross-sea bridge in Hong Kong after Tsing Ma Bridge and Stonecutters Bridge.

The project involves the construction of a viaduct stretching across Tseung Kwan O Bay with a length of some 1.8 kilometer. The main part is a flare-type butterfly steel arc bridge with a span of 200 meters; the side part includes a steel box girder with a span of 100 meters and a concrete box girder with a span of 75 meters. With a main bridge width of 34.3 meters and a construction period of 43 months, the bridge will be designed as a "single corridor" integrating a dual two-lane carriageway, a cycleway and a walkway, supported by sling. The inclined bridge design can lower the arches to about 70 meters above the sea.
