Hong Kong project is won by CHEC with contract value of USD 4,000 million

On November 22, CHEC won the bid for
Phase 1 of comprehensive waste disposal facilities in Hong
Kong. With a contract value of some USD 4,000 million, a
construction period of 80 months and an operation period of 15 years, the
project will be implemented in the mode of design-build-operate (DBO).
The project involves the reclamation of
waters round Shek Kwu Chau, Hong Kong
measuring 16 hectares, and the construction of facilities for power generation
through urban solid waste incineration disposal. Using working leading
technologies, the project is the first waste incineration disposal project in Hong Kong.
With a designed annual waste disposal
capacity of 3,000 tons and an annual generating capacity of some 480 million
kilowatt-hours supplied to 100,000 households, the project will be a major
symbolic project of the company along the "Bet and Road".
