After five years of construction by CCCC, the Hejiang Yangtze River Highway Bridge in Hejiang County, southwest China’s Sichuan Province, was opened to traffic recently. With a total length of 1,420 meters and a main span of 507 meters, it is the world’s largest flying-swallow-type concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) arch bridge. It will slash the cross-river time from one hour to only 10 minutes. Its opening ends the history of more than 400,000 people crossing the river by ferries. The bridge will greatly promote Hechuan to integrate into the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle in south China.
