Wenshan-Malipo Highway put into trial operation

After more than one thousand days of construction, the Wenshan-Malipo Highway in southwest China’s mountainous Yunnan Province was put into trial operation on July 1. With a total length of about 75 km, the road involves the construction of 46 bridges and 17 tunnels. The section built by CCCC extends 10.2 km, with tunnels and bridges accounting for 74% of the task. Due to being located in a karst area the construction is incredibly difficult. The highway will shorten the travel time between Wenshan and Malipo from one and a half hours to 50 minutes or so, and will contribute to promoting the regional economic development.
