Construction of Hutchison’s container terminal, container yard and housing project at the port of Veracruz has been completed
Construction of Hutchison’s container terminal, container yard and housing project at the port of Veracruz has been completed by CCCC recently, marking the fact that the port of Veracruz will surpass the Port of Manzanillo to become the largest one in Mexico.
The terminal has a 700 meters long coastline with two berths, which allows the largest container vessel in Latin America to berth and can accommodate cargo ships with a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 200,000. During the project’s construction, the team members overcame difficulties brought forth by high temperatures, the rainy season, sandstorms and the global health crisis, and have completed the project smoothly. The project will greatly optimize Mexico’s port infrastructure, which is of great significance to the import and export of Mexico and even the entire Latin American region.
